Blank areas don't mean "no parking": city datasets have limited geographic coverage. OpenStreetMap parking lots use the same colors as city data when a fee or maximum stay is known. Grey “Rules unknown” areas have no reliable fee/time-limit details in their city or OpenStreetMap source. They are never treated as free. Their popup identifies the source and explains which information is missing.
OpenStreetMap records appear in “Free now” only when both no fee and unrestricted public access are explicitly reported. A missing access tag is shown as unconfirmed, regardless of other details.
Time limits have separate colors for 15 min, 30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h, 12 h, 24 h and over 24 h. Parking-disc spaces use the same duration colors; grey disc spaces do not report a reliable time limit.
